I give credit for all of my creativity up to God. I can't explain how my mind works, otherwise. I knew I wanted to use a vintage ceramic boot that could hold an assemblage. I love this one, as it's a mug with a handle. Very convenient!
The boot needed something, so I used a piece of an embossed leather belt with crystal studs and a brass cross & turquoise concho. Jute rope was added above and below the belt. I almost always us moss for the base of the assemblage. A vintage style crochet lace bow was added to balance out the boot visually. Then the assemblage begins, and I start low and get taller as I move to the back of the piece. I like to make sure the piece looks good from all angles. I used rhinestone jewelry and hair pieces, as well s an adorable pearl lamb. I love making my own carrots, and this one has a wood clothespin carrot with raffia. I love the frosted pink pine trees that are out, so I us one an aded glass pearls and a pink crystal silver concho to the top. Silver tinsel star picks are in there as well as silk roses, glitter leaves and other floral. In the back a left a little area of moss that's sugared and has a path of Easter eggs. So cute! I like my pieces to tell a little story. I often use different things to represent eggs. Sometimes I make them with clay, or I'll use the traditional glitter eggs from the store, or glass pearls or gemstones. In this piece I used both glass pearls and gemstones. The last thing I'll add are feather butterflies, if I'm using them. This one has both a green and a turquoise one. It's a showstopper for sure!"
